Elliot Park Minneapolis Real Estate
The neighborhood of Elliot Park can be found just south of downtown Minneapolis within the Central Community. Elliot Park is surrounded by Fifth Street South, Fifth Avenue South, Highway 55, Fourth Avenue South and 18th Street East. Elliot Park is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Minneapolis and has a unique blend of modern urban structures and older, original properties.
There is a park in the neighborhood also called Elliot Park, which is where the area takes its name. The park started as farmland, which was donated to the city of Minneapolis by Dr. Joseph Elliot.
In the late 19th century, a variety of luxurious mansions popped up along Park Avenue. There are still some older Victorian residences that stand today, all of them full of character. The neighborhood is also home to older, and some newer, apartment complexes which gives the area plenty of multi-family dwellings.
