The neighborhood of Fulton is situated in the southwest portion of Minneapolis, which shares a border with the suburb of Edina. The district’s limits are France Avenue South, Penn Avenue South, 54th Street West and 47th Street West. Lake Harriet sits in the northeast corner of Fulton and the picturesque Minnehaha Creek traverses through the neighborhood.

Fulton is named after Robert Fulton, the inventor of the steamboat. Residents of the thriving Fulton neighborhood have access to both the busy 50th Street West commercial district and all of the shopping, restaurants and entertainment Edina has to offer.

The Fulton neighborhood has mostly single-family homes which were constructed in the 1920s. The styles found in Fulton are mostly Foursquare, Craftsman and Bungalow.

Fulton Minneapolis Neighborhood Information

Fulton also contains the Pershing Recreational Center and plenty of parkland around its bodies of water. Residents in the area love to soak up all the outdoor activities Fulton has to offer. This area has so much green space and is right on top of Lake Harriet; it gives residents some semblance of a rural area despite being so close to downtown Minneapolis. The Fulton Neighborhood Association is actively working towards increasing the livability of the area by encouraging renovation, restoration and beautification of its homes with grants and prizes.
