The Hiawatha neighborhood is situated on the western shore of the Mississippi River in the city of Minneapolis; this neighborhood a member of the Longfellow Community. It is surrounded by the Mississippi River, 40th Street, Hiawatha Avenue and 54th Street East The American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow made famous the names of Minnehaha and Hiawatha with one of his poems, "The Song of Hiawatha."
