Little Canada Minnesota Real Estate
Located along Interstate Highway 35E just six miles north of Downtown St. Paul, Little Canada is a growing community. The area was established by a French Canadian settler named Benjamin Gervais. More French Canadians followed and New Canada was named in 1858.
Little Canada has its own "Chain of Lakes" with Gervais Lake, Kohlman's Lake, and Keller Lake located in the northeast portion of the city. These lakes combined with the city's 10 parks give residents plenty options for recreation all-year-round. The area purchased by Benjamin Gervain makes up Little Canada's City Park today. Many of the residents that live here now can trace their roots back to the first settlers of Little Canada.
The citizens are proud of their French Canadian heritage and work hard to maintain the town’s historic and unique identity despite the influence of the busy metropolitan that surrounds it.
