Marcy-Holmes is named for two famous 19th century Americans secretary of state William L. Marcy and writer Oliver Wendell Holmes. Marcy-Holmes is home to Florence Court, one of Minneapolis' historic landmarks containing roughly 50 residential structures that set the tone for the neighborhood. The Marcy-Holmes neighborhood is also the location of Dinkytown.
