Stillwater Minnesota Real Estate

Located about 20 miles northeast of Downtown St. Paul along the St. Croix River is the city of Stillwater, a picturesque community. Known as the "Birthplace of Minnesota," it was in Stillwater that a petition was drafted to request that the U.S. Congress recognize the state as a new territory. Because of the major part it played in Minnesota history, Stillwater itself is on the National Registry of Historic Places.

Stillwater is best known for its Main Street district, featuring art, antiques, used book dealers, jewelry shops, unique restaurants, coffee shops, bars and more. This area is bustling with life year-round, but even more so in the summer months.

Though Main Street and the St. Croix draw tourists from all around, Stillwater's permanent residents enjoy a solid school system, a strong commercial district and small town atmosphere. Homes here range from big, old houses nestled into the bluffs of the St. Croix to more modest, starter homes in established neighborhoods. Stillwater’s mix of old world charm and modern convenience could be just what you’re looking for in a place to call home.
